If no one on the internet wants a piece of this...

...just how far from the pack have you strayed?

I sit in front of the computer all day every day. That's not an exaggeration, sadly, but I'm one to find a silver lining in everything. In this case, the silver lining is that I get to take advantage of all of the time-wasting glory of the internet. Here are my favorites, and god knows I'm always open to new suggestions.

*Failblog: This is the newest addition to my roster, and I'm not sure it'll become a daily read, but, like I Can Has Cheeseburger, I Has a Hotdog, and LOL President, funny words plus cute/amusing/dorky pictures make my day a little brighter.

*Television Without Pity: Snarky television goodness. I couldn't live without this site when I was watching Deadwood, and the X-Files recaps are made of brilliance. If you're a fan of Go Fug Yourself (see below), they've got a great interview with Jessica and Heather here.

*The S-Factor / Sheila Kelley's blog: OK, confession time. I'm obsessed with S Factor, to a ridiculous degree. I've never taken a class, and until the right friend comes to town again to visit, I won't, not to mention that it's out of my price range anyway. STILL, I'm obsessed. I used to watch Sisters, you see, and Sheila was the replacement Charley. Who looked NOTHING like the original Charley, but that's neither here nor there. Not to mention that she's married to Richard Schiff of The West Wing fame, so it's like some bizarrely awesome collision that she took up pole dancing as an exercise/empowerment thing and is now all over the place.

*Jenna Fischer's blog: Speaking of MySpace blogs, Jenna Fischer's is particularly fun as well. It kind of delights me that she sometimes posts while she's sitting at Pam's desk in the Dunder Mifflin office. IDENTITY THEFT IS NOT A JOKE, JIM.

*Diablo Cody: As much as el Diablo has blown up in the last few months (and has gotten a lot of backlash from it, at least from where I sit), I do love her blog. Before migrating to MySpace she blogged at The Pussy Ranch and its former incarnation, so there are lots of fun back-entries to read.

*Go Fug Yourself: The snarkiest and most fabulous of celeb blogs, all fashion-focused, but don't let that stop you if you're not into clothes. It's classy and campy and brilliant, and if I were to meet the Fug Girls in a bar, I'd buy them a drink faster than pretty much anyone I could meet in this town.

*Oh No They Didn't: If Perez Hilton is the evil stepchild of celebrity blogging, then this site is the schoolyard gang. These fuckers are mean, but the posts are comprehensive, and if your goal, like mine, is to waste a lot of time, then this is your place. You'll scroll through more than you read, but there are usually interesting tidbits on almost every page.

*Jigzone: Jigsaw puzzles, bitches! And the pieces make noise when they snap together. What's better than that?

*TBS Games: This summer my boss spent three weeks in Israel. What did I do? I watched The West Wing and played Stressed Out on tbs.com. No joke, every day, that's all I did. My other favorite is Sexy Sudoko, even though I don't find it very sexy. It is, however, addictive.

*Wikipedia: Giant fail on my part, right? Has Wikipedia gotten any better? Do they allow it as a source in schools? I don't even know. But it tells me so many things that I love to just bounce from page to page learning things. Like how Alex Rocco, who played Moe Greene in The Godfather was a gangster in Boston when he was younger, and how the alleged leader of that gang, the Winter Hill Gang, is Whitey Bulger, who is currently on the lam. ON THE LAM! Great reading, Wikipedia! This was the other site open the whole time I watched Deadwood. I'm pretty sure that means I'm too stupid to be watching Deadwood, though. (Greatest show ever, I might add.)

And here's the greatest part of this list: I wasted the morning writing it. Time for lunch!

Just inching a toe into this part of the internet waters. I'm a livejournal girl, so this is new to me. Who knows what will end up here. But something shiny and trinkety, for sure.
